Error Printing
"we need to first be limited in order to become limitless." -- Phil Hansen
"why does it say paper jam when there is no paper jam? piece of shit." -- Samir, "Office Space"
home printer are the bane of all productivity. mass produced and poorly made, they often seem to serve little purpose other than gobbling up expensive ink and spitting out error messages.
this can be especially frustrating when trying to produce zines, so when i found a serviceable printer on the curb outside my home, i decided to see how much life i could squeeze out of it before returning it to the trash heap.
i copied the same photo using every available setting on the printer, watching the image change color, size and clarity as the found equipment slowly ran out of ink. The result is "Error Printing", a meditation on the disposable consumer culture that allows such monstrosities to exist.
process over product baybeeeeeee.
